About this directory
What this directory is
Hartford Metro Roofing Contractor Guide lists 200 roofing contractors doing business across the Hartford area, from small crews handling shingle repairs to larger outfits running full tear-off and replacement jobs. It exists for one plain reason: homeowners and property managers searching for a roofer usually have to piece together a company’s reputation from scattered review sites, a license lookup, and word of mouth. We do that legwork up front and put it in one place, organized by a published set of criteria rather than by who paid the most for placement.
We’re an independent directory and comparison resource. We also generate enquiries for local providers: when you ask to be matched, we pass your enquiry to providers relevant to your request and may receive a referral fee for that connection. Referral arrangements never affect scores or earned rankings. Details on how that matching and any fee works are spelled out on the quote page before you submit anything.
Where the data comes from
Each listing is built from public business records (things like licensing status, years active, and service area) combined with a synthesis of recent Google reviews for that business. We read the review patterns and summarize what they say about response time, workmanship, pricing fairness, and follow-through, but we do not republish review text or star ratings wholesale. If you want the original source, every listing links out to the business’s Google profile so you can read reviews firsthand. Data across the directory gets refreshed on a regular cycle so a listing from months ago doesn’t sit stale while a company’s reputation moves.

How rankings are earned
A contractor’s position in our rankings comes entirely from the rubric and the data feeding it, not from any business relationship with us. The full scoring breakdown, including what factors count and how they’re weighted, is posted on our /methodology/ page. A listed business can flag and correct factual errors on its own profile, things like a wrong phone number, an outdated service area, or a license number that changed. What it cannot do is edit its own score, sentiment summary, or ranking position. Those stay under editorial control.
Sponsorship, when it appears
Some pages may include sponsored placements. These are always labeled “Sponsored,” displayed in a section separate from the earned rankings, and never blended into the ranking itself. A company can pay to appear in a sponsored slot; it cannot pay to move up the ranked list.

Who’s behind it
This directory is published by Ondera Media, which runs local business guides across the Greater Hartford area with a consistent goal: rank service providers on quality and real performance, not on who pays the most in fees. Listings draw on published customer reviews and public business records, and the data behind them gets refreshed monthly, so the aim is to take the guesswork out of picking a roofer in your own neighborhood.
Editorial oversight and the rankings themselves are maintained by Diego Fischer, Head of Research at Ondera Media. Questions about a listing, a correction request, or how the rubric works can go to trajahbuxton@outlook.com or by phone at 203-824-0275. More about the publisher is at onderamedia.com.

FAQ
- Do roofing companies pay to be listed here?
- A company can pay for a labeled sponsored slot, which is shown separately from the rankings. Paying does not change or improve a business's earned ranking, score, or sentiment summary.
- Can a business change its own rating?
- A listed business can correct factual details on its profile, like contact info or service area. It cannot edit its score, sentiment summary, or ranking position; those are set by our rubric and reviewed editorially.
- Where do the reviews come from?
- We synthesize patterns from recent Google reviews for each business rather than copying review text. Every listing links to the business's Google profile so you can read the original reviews yourself.
- What happens when I ask to be matched with a contractor?
- We pass your enquiry to providers relevant to your request and may receive a referral fee from the provider. This never changes how any business is scored or ranked, and it's disclosed on the quote page.
